In the older days, making a phone call to the U.S. could cost an arm and a leg. I remember making a 3 minute phone call to the U.S. and i had shell out around Php 300.00 (that was a lot back then), imagine Php 100.00 per minute. Now thanks to technology specially VOIP "Voice Over Internet Protocol" or in lay man's term is Internet Telephony. With a computer and a broadband internet you can now call the U.S. and Canada for free (as of this writing it is still free).  Gmail Call Phone  is an Internet Telephony.  You may also use Gmail Call Phone to make phone calls to other countries at a very minimal price.  I have prepared a tutorial on How to use Gmail Call Phone.
